Job description

Job role: SEMH Teaching Assistant

Salary: £95 - £110 per day

Location: Bury

Start date: Immediate & September starts available

Working hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am 3:30pm

Value Education are looking for confident support staff to work with children aged 11-16 years old in schools across the Bury area.

Due to the increased demand for support staff, we are able to offer either full time or part time work depending on your needs.

This role is perfect for someone passionate about transforming challenging behaviours and helping young people thrive in an alternative provision or specialist school setting.

Long term (temp to perm) or short-term work available.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1:1 and small-group support to students with SEMH, ASD, and complex needs.
  • Implement individualised behaviour plans and de-escalation strategies.
  • Assist with EHCP/IEP targets, tracking progress and adapting interventions.
  • Foster a safe, structured environment using trauma-informed approaches.
  • Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and safeguarding teams.
