SEMH Teaching Assistants Needed

TeacherActive is currently recruiting for Teaching Assistants to work on a day-to-day, short-term, and long-term basis in SEMH/SEND schools based in Oxfordshire. We are seeking individuals with experience working with challenging students who are considering a slight career change to move into a school environment.

The school requires additional staff due to increased student referrals, necessitating support for 1:1 and general classroom assistance.

Responsibilities:
  1. Support pupils outside the classroom, focusing on pastoral and personal development.
  2. Manage behaviour of pupils sent out of class, allowing other TAs to focus on their tasks.
  3. Patrol the school to work with pupils not in class for various reasons.
Required Skills & Experience:
  • Previous experience working with teenagers.
  • Strong behaviour management skills.
  • Team player attitude with a positive and flexible approach to work.
  • Experience within an SEMH school or setting.
