A leading education provider in East London is seeking a dedicated SEMH Teaching Assistant to support a year 8 pupil with significant behavioural challenges. SEMH Teaching Assistant East London Paid Trial Days

Role: SEMH Teaching Assistant

Start Date: ASAP 2025

Hours: 08:30-15:30

Contract: Full time

Location: Hackney, East London

Rate: 95-115 per day

Interview: Paid Interview

Remedy is seeking a dedicated and high-performing SEMH Teaching Assistant to to work at one of our leading partner schools in East London. You will be supporting a year 8 pupil who suffers from SEMH. The pupil has suffered from significant traumatic experiences that affects her behaviour and interaction amongst her peers we would like you to support this pupil in her journey in becoming a high performing child in an amazing school.

The ideal candidate:

  • Experience working with students with behavioural challenges, preferably in an educational or special education setting.
  • Knowledge of behaviour management techniques, positive reinforcement strategies, and de-escalation methods.
  • Ability to establish rapport and build positive relationships with students, demonstrating patience, empathy, and understanding.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to remain calm and composed in challenging situations.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to meet the changing needs of students and the educational environment.

What we look for:

  • A graduate in Criminology, Psychology, or a related field with a strong interest in youth justice or supporting students with SEMH needs.
  • While prior experience is beneficial, full training and support will be provided.
  • Previous experience working as a Behaviour Mentor, Teaching Assistant, or in a similar role.
  • Key understanding of behaviour management techniques and positive behaviour support.
  • A relevant qualification in education, psychology, or a related field (Not Mandatory).
