Job description

Vision for Education are seeking a SEMH Teaching Assistant with experience working with Children with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs to start a full-time, long term to start in September 2025.

About the role

As a SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will be; committed, resilient and have the desire to want to make a difference to the lives of some of our most vulnerable young people. You will create a stimulating, safe and structured environment for pupils with complex needs and be 'on call' for anyone in crisis/who may need emotional support or guidance.

The desired SEMH Teaching Assistant will have;

  • Use judgement and creativity to plan and deliver interventions according to the needs of the young people
  • The ability to use initiative and be proactive
  • Kind and nurturing approach to the complex needs young people can face
