SEMH Teaching Assistant

Mental health support

Location: Gloucester – GL1

  • Role: SEMH Teaching Assistant
  • Starting pay: £83.33 - £90 per day (£19,999 - £21,000)
  • Contract: Temporary to Permanent
  • Start date: September

Are you based in Gloucester? Do you have a degree or experience in SEN/SEMH working with children?

You will be working with Gloucestershire-based children who require support with their social, emotional, and mental health. This may involve managing challenging behaviour, so patience, calmness, resilience, and professionalism are essential.

The ideal SEMH Teaching Assistant should:

  • Have at least 1 year’s experience working with KS1/KS2 children with SEMH/SEN, either on a 1:1 basis or in classes
  • Be passionate about working with SEMH/SEN, including managing ASD, autism, behavioural issues, mental health issues, trauma, etc.
  • Possess a flexible, proactive, and patient personality to cater to the needs of SEN students
  • Be able to communicate effectively with a team of KS1/KS2 staff
  • Have a minimum 2:1 degree in Mental Health, Social Care, Psychology, or Criminology

Schedule:
  • Full-time: 08:30 am – 3:30 pm
  • Monday to Friday
  • No weekends
