Job summary

Academics is recruiting an experienced SEMH Teaching Assistant to support pupils in Wirral schools. You will work with children showing SEMH needs, help with behaviour, and assist teachers to deliver inclusive lessons. You should have strong behaviour management, an understanding of mental health, and be able to escalate safeguarding concerns.

Enhanced DBS is preferred. Flexible working patterns range from day-to-day cover to short-term and long-term contracts, with pay in the £93–£105 per day

Qualifications

• Excellent behaviour management skills and ability to support pupils with SEMH needs.
• Experience in supporting classroom activities and learning objectives.
• Understanding of children's mental health and barriers to learning.

Responsibilities

• Behaviour Management - support positive behaviour and de-escalate when needed.
• Classroom Support - assist staff and help students complete work.
• Safeguarding - report concerns to the safeguarding lead and ensure safety.
• Mental Health Support - assist pupils with mental wellbeing challenges.
