SEMH Teaching Assistant – Darwen
Start Date: September | Pay: £13.75–£14.50 per hour

Are you passionate about supporting young people with social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs? Do you thrive in environments where every day is different and where your impact truly matters?

We are currently seeking a dedicated SEMH Teaching Assistant to join a specialist education setting in Darwen that provides tailored support for pupils aged 10–19 with complex SEMH needs and associated learning difficulties.

About the Role:
You’ll play a vital role in supporting students both in and out of the classroom, helping them to access learning, manage behaviours, and build confidence. You’ll work alongside a committed team of education and therapy professionals, using a nurturing and therapeutic approach to make a genuine difference in young people’s lives.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Experience working with SEMH or challenging behaviour is highly desirable.
  • A background in youth work, mentoring, or children’s support services would be beneficial.
  • Patience, empathy, resilience, and a calm approach to behaviour management.
  • A team player with good communication skills and a positive attitude.

Requirements:

  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
  • Right to work in the UK.
  • Availability to start in September.
