Location: Croydon, South London

Simply Education is seeking a compassionate and resilient SEMH Teaching Assistant to support pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs in a welcoming and supportive school in Croydon.

This is a rewarding role for someone who is patient, adaptable, and passionate about helping children overcome barriers to learning and succeed both in and out of the classroom.

About the Role
  • Provide 1:1 and small-group support for pupils with SEMH needs
  • Help pupils manage their emotions, build resilience, and develop positive behaviour strategies
  • Support academic learning in line with the KS1 and KS2 curriculum
  • Work closely with the class teacher, SENCO, and external professionals to deliver personalised support plans
  • Foster a safe, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment
What We're Looking For
  • Experience working with children with SEMH or behavioural needs (school-based experience desirable)
  • A calm, patient, and empathetic approach
  • Strong behaviour management and de-escalation skills
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
  • Relevant training (e.g., Team Teach) is an advantage but not essential
