Job summary

Remedy Education is seeking a Teaching Assistant for a Redbridge, London school with a SEMH focus. You will support KS3-4 pupils (11-16) in and out of class and act as a pastoral listening ear for students facing SEMH challenges.

DBS clearance is required and immediate start is possible following a successful trial day. The role is full-time, Monday to Friday, long-term, until at least the end of July 2022.

Qualifications

• DBS certificate required for role.
• Ideal for graduates who are confident, experienced and able to remain calm in difficult situations.
• Experience or interest in SEMH approaches is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Work in and out of the classroom with KS3-4 students with SEMH.
• Provide pastoral listening support to hard-to-reach students.
• Help improve students’ outlook toward academics and life outside school.
• Maintain diplomacy and build good rapport with students even in challenging behaviours.
