Job summary

Reed is seeking a SEMH Teaching Assistant for a specialist SEMH school in Bicker, near Boston, Lincolnshire. The role is full-time, term-time only, temporary to permanent.

You will support pupils with SEMH needs, build relationships, assist with emotional regulation, deliver 1:1 and small-group interventions, support during breaks, and work with teachers and pastoral staff to promote safeguarding and wellbeing.

Qualifications

• Experience in SEMH schools, SEN, or related care/support roles.
• Calm, resilient, and patient personality.
• Passionate about supporting vulnerable young people.
• Ability to build rapport and establish professional boundaries.
• Proactive and able to think on your feet.
• A positive role model with a genuine desire to make a difference.

Responsibilities

• Provide classroom support to pupils with SEMH needs.
• Build positive and trusting relationships with students.
• Support pupils with emotional regulation and behaviour management strategies.
• Deliver 1:1 and small group interventions.
• Encourage engagement with learning activities and classroom tasks.
• Support pupils during breaks and lunch times.
• Work collaboratively with teachers, pastoral staff, and external professionals.
• Promote safeguarding, wellbeing, and positive outcomes for all pupils.
