We're looking for a full-time SEMH Teaching Assistant to support a young secondary aged girl at a specialist provision in St Albans. The role starts September and involves one-to-one support across the school day.
About the school:
Specialist setting catering for secondary pupils with SEMH and associated needs
Strong pastoral approach, clear routines, and excellent multi-agency support
Staff are trained in trauma-informed practice and emotional regulation
The role:
Building trust and consistency with one pupil
Supporting emotional regulation and focus in lessons
Encouraging positive choices, social skills, and academic engagement
Liaising with therapists, parents and key workers
You'll need:
Experience supporting pupils with SEMH, trauma, or similar needs
Boundaries, patience, and a calm, steady presence
A real belief in second chances and pupil potential
