SEMH Teaching Assistants Needed

TeacherActive is currently recruiting for Teaching Assistants to work on a day-to-day, short-term, and long-term basis in SEMH/SEND schools based in Birmingham. We are seeking individuals with experience working with challenging students who are considering a career change into a school environment.

The school requires additional staff due to increased student referrals, which has created a need for support staff to work 1:1 and provide general classroom assistance.

Responsibilities:

• Support pupils outside of the classroom with pastoral and personal development
• Manage behaviour of pupils sent out of class, enabling other TAs to focus on their tasks
• Patrol the school premises, working with pupils who are not in class for various reasons

Required Skills & Experience:

• Previous experience working with teenagers
• Strong behaviour management skills
• Team player attitude with a positive and flexible approach
• Experience within an SEMH school or setting
