The setting provides a nurturing and therapeutic environment for pupils with SEMH, trauma, anxiety, behavioural needs, ADHD, and many of whom are looked-after children. As an SEMH Teacher, you will work with a small class of pupils with high levels of need, delivering creative, differentiated lessons tailored to their emotional and academic development.

Whether you are primary-trained or secondary-trained, your experience will be valued. Having a specialist subject is welcomed but not essential - what matters most is your ability to connect, adapt, and inspire.

  • Plan and deliver engaging, personalised lessons as an SEMH Teacher
  • Create a calm, safe space for learning, using trauma-informed practice
  • Differentiate teaching to meet a wide range of abilities and needs
  • Deliver targeted interventions to help pupils re-engage with education
  • Support pupils with behaviour regulation, emotional resilience, and confidence
  • Collaborate closely with support staff, therapists, and senior leaders
  • Build strong relationships with pupils who have experienced adversity
  • Maintain accurate records of progress, behaviour, and communication
  • Act as a positive role model and consistent adult figure as an SEMH Teacher

SEMH Teacher - What We're Looking For:

  • QTS or equivalent teaching qualification
  • Experience supporting pupils with SEMH, trauma, or additional needs
  • Primary or Secondary trained SEMH Teachers are both welcomed
  • A nurturing, firm-but-fair approach to behaviour and boundaries
  • Confidence in managing challenging behaviour with empathy
