Pay: M1-M6 (dependent on experience and qualifications)
Are you an experienced teacher with a passion for supporting students with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs? Do you thrive in a nurturing, small-school setting where every day brings new challenges and rewards?
We are working in partnership with a specialist SEMH school in Chorley that caters for both primary and secondary pupils with complex needs. The school is seeking a committed and adaptable KS4 Teacher to join their team from September 2025. This is a full-time role on a 12-week temporary to permanent contract.
Lead the KS4 class, delivering a flexible and engaging curriculum tailored to individual needs
Support across year groups when required, collaborating closely with primary and secondary colleagues
Promote emotional regulation, resilience and positive behaviour through consistent, therapeutic approaches
Track progress and contribute to EHCP reviews and wider pastoral support planning
Qualified Teacher (QTS/QTLS) with experience in SEMH, alternative provision or PRU settings
Confident teaching across a range of subjects, including core curriculum and vocational elements
Skilled in managing challenging behaviour using de-escalation and trauma-informed strategies
Resilient, compassionate and team-oriented
Strong understanding of safeguarding, differentiation, and inclusive education
A small, supportive team with a child-centred ethos
Access to ongoing CPD and mental health/behaviour training
A pathway to permanent employment following a successful 12-week placement
