Location: Primary School near Derby
Start Date: September 2025
Daily Rate: 90 - 120 (dependent on experience)

Tradewind Recruitment is working closely with a welcoming and inclusive primary school near Derby to recruit an experienced and committed Higher Level Teaching Assistant to start in September 2025.



About the Role:

This is a full-time HLTA position working across EYFS, KS1, and KS2. You will provide tailored support to children with a range of SEN and SEMH needs supporting their academic, emotional, and behavioural development, while helping to maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Delivering small group and one-to-one interventions

  • Supporting pupils with EHCPs and complex emotional or behavioural needs

  • Assisting with the planning and delivery of engaging learning activities

  • Working closely with SENCOs, class teachers, and external professionals

  • Promoting resilience, independence, and positive learning behaviours



The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • Previous experience as an HLTA in a primary setting

  • Strong knowledge of SEN strategies and behaviour support techniques

  • A calm, patient, and empathetic approach to challenging behaviours

  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills

  • A proactive and flexible attitude with a genuine passion for helping children thrive
