Job summary

Academics Ltd is recruiting on behalf of a successful Secondary SEMH school in Basingstoke for a Support Manager to start in September. This temp-to-perm role offers a salary of £28,598–£31,022 per year (FTE); actual salary £24,515–£26,593.

You will manage the behaviour and wellbeing of SECID pupils aged 10–16, collaborate with the Support Team Lead, build strong relationships with students, families and staff, and contribute to whole-school life in an alternative education environment.

Qualifications

  • Passion and resilience; a commitment to working with children in an alternative education environment.
  • Empathy and a proactive approach to supporting students through challenges.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with staff and demonstrate reliable, compassionate leadership.
  • Experience or interest in SEMH/SECID settings is desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the behaviour and wellbeing of students with SECID, in collaboration with the Support Team Lead.
  • Implement effective behavioural strategies to support student progress and safety.
  • Build strong relationships with students, families, and staff to promote a positive school environment.
  • Ensure consistent communication across the school community regarding student welfare and progress.
  • Contribute to whole-school life and support initiatives that enhance learners’ experiences.
