Job description

Job Overview:

Seller Performance Manager

The primary responsibility of the Seller Performance Manager is to develop and implement the risk strategy in collaboration with the Head of Risk and senior leadership, ensuring effective identification and control of key seller and product risks.

The role aims to support the Head of Risk in managing financial, legal, and reputation risks to maximize revenue through a balanced risk approach.

You will monitor seller performance and profitability, identify issues swiftly, and take proportionate actions to mitigate impact on the company and buyers. This includes preventing deceptive practices by rogue sellers, improving underperforming sellers, and leveraging performance metrics to drive sales to top sellers.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Lead monitoring of seller performance and develop metrics to identify risks proactively.
  2. Collaborate on developing a seller risk model and dashboards using predictive techniques and performance fingerprinting.
  3. Enhance and scale the risk model and establish repeatable processes for different risk types, from educational support to sanctions.
  4. Investigate and manage emerging seller risk trends across all sellers.
  5. Handle responses from sellers and manage communications via the Seller Performance email.
Additional Responsibilities:
  • Manage Trust Pilot reviews, ensuring effective monitoring, responses, and investigations into reviews and fraud patterns.
  • Support with product compliance and violations, monitoring related risks and trends.
  • Investigate complex customer service inquiries indicating broader issues.
Requirements:
  • Proven experience in Performance Management within an online marketplace or retail environment.
  • Deep knowledge of seller risk management and strategies used by bad actors.
  • Effective communicator with stakeholders and external parties.
  • Independent, critical thinker with creativity.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and SQL querying.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
  • Understanding of UK consumer law, including the Consumer Rights Act 2015 and the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013.

The salary range for this role is £50,000 to £60,000 per annum, depending on experience, along with benefits such as 25 days' annual leave, your birthday off, Employee Assistance Programme, Perks at Work, career progression opportunities, and company equity.
