Job description

Self-Erecting Tower Crane Depot and Field Technician

Job Type: Part Time, Permanent

Location: Will be based in Shipdham, Thetford, UK, however, they will be required to work nationally and work away from home as and when required.

Working Hours: Depot working core hours are, Monday to Friday – 7:30am to 4.00pm, with an unpaid lunch break of half an hour. Overtime available, field working as the job requires.

Salary: Competitive rate of pay, depending on experience.

Within the Falcon Group is Falcon Tower Crane Services, the largest tower crane supplier in the UK and one of the largest in the world with just under 450 tower cranes nationwide. Falcon Power Generation with 400 generators nationwide along with Falcon Freight who operate a fleet of 37 HGV vehicles with a selection of units supporting artic and rigid HIAB cranes.

Due to the continued expansion within the Group, we are seeking a Self-Erecting Tower Crane Depot and Field Technician to join our team. The successful applicant should have previous experience working as a Plant Technician within the Construction Industry. Due to the volume of applicants, please only apply if you have Industry experience and are able to provide references.

Manufacturer training will be provided.

Responsibilities - Self-Erecting Tower Crane Depot and Field Technician:

Working collaboratively within the Self-Erecting Tower Crane Department, you will be responsible for erecting, dismantling and servicing of our fleet of Self Erecting Tower Cranes.

Qualifications/Knowledge/Experience:

· Experience in Fault Finding.

· Knowledge and experience in problem solving.

· Full Clean Driving Licence.

· NVQ Level 2 Plant Maintenance.

· NVQ Level 2 Engineering.

· Current Wiring regulations, for example, Level 3 Award in the Requirements for Electrical Installations BS 7671 (18th edition)

Competence with 3 phase electrical supplies, low voltage AC and DC control circuits

and PLC systems.

· The ability to understand hydraulic systems.

· Capable of following manufacturers guidelines and safe systems of work.

· The ability to work to exemplary standards.

· The ability to use their own initiative.

· The ability to work well in a team along with co-ordinating effective lines of communication among the team.

· To be an effective team member with a highly supportive and collaborative approach.

· The ability to work independently.

· The ability to communicate clearly and effectively with the ability to delivery excellent

· customer service on our projects.

· Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.

· The ability to work under pressure.

· Be prepared to work outside in all weather conditions, for which suitable PPE will be provided.

· Must have a flexible approach to working hours.

· Strong problem-solving abilities and a hands-on approach to tasks.
