Location: Across centres in Kent, Hampshire, Sussex (Battle, Burgess Hill, South London, Enfield), Chesham, Milton Keynes, Bromsgrove, and Wisbech

Position: Therapeutic Therapist (Self-employed, Contract per case basis)

Salary:
- 0–100hrs (Placement): Insurance and supervision provided
- 100–450hrs (Towards accreditation): £25/hr + supervision
- 450hrs+ (UKCP/BACP accredited): £55/hr

About Us

Established in 1987, we are the UK’s first independent foster care agency with over 30 years of experience, dedicated to providing specialist support to children with challenging backgrounds through an integrated, therapeutic approach. Our services include social work, fostering advice, education, and therapy, all aimed at supporting children and foster families in a trauma-informed manner.

We are seeking new therapists to join our team on a self-employed basis, delivering psychotherapy to children and young people across our centres in Kent, Hampshire, Sussex, South London, Enfield, Chesham, Milton Keynes, Bromsgrove, and Wisbech. Caseloads involve up to 8 hours per month per case, including therapy sessions, consultations, case management, and supervision. Opportunities also exist for contributing to training and service development.

Vacancies

  • Postgraduate psychotherapy placement trainees (50-100hrs)
  • Newly qualified psychotherapists (working towards 450hrs)

Different pay rates apply depending on experience and accreditation:

  • 0-100hrs: Placement, supervision provided
  • 100-450hrs: £25/hr, supervision provided
  • 450hrs+: £55/hr, UKCP/BACP accredited

Responsibilities

  • Conduct core therapy activities with children and young people, including assessments, consultations, and attending meetings.
  • Engage proactively in supervision, training, and development.
  • Utilize evidence-based practices, understanding attachment, trauma, neurodiversity, and developmental issues, and communicate effectively with children, families, and professionals.
  • Maintain GDPR-compliant records and documentation.

Requirements

  • Postgraduate psychotherapy or clinical psychology trainee, or qualified therapist with registration
  • Experience working with children with trauma or in care, and supporting SEMH needs
  • Effective multidisciplinary team working and confidentiality adherence
  • Resilient, flexible, collaborative, and able to handle challenging situations
  • Valid driving license and access to vehicle; willingness to undergo DBS check (cost covered)
