Job summary

Parents for Future Scotland seeks a driven, community‑focused Coordinator in Glasgow to grow walking, wheeling and cycling to school. You will work hands‑on with parents, pupils and staff to establish walking and bike buses, run active travel workshops and help overcome barriers to families choosing active travel.

You will empower parents to become leaders, partner with schools, and collaborate with cycling orgs and local authorities to embed a culture of safe, active travel.

Qualifications

• You must be able to competently ride a bike.
• You must be a qualified Cycle Ride Leader and be First Aid trained or be willing to complete the training within the first 3 months of starting.

Responsibilities

• Support the establishment and development of walking buses and bike buses across participating schools.
• Identify participatory barriers and opportunities to grow active travel schemes with parents and staff.
• Assist with route planning, risk assessments and volunteer coordination.
• Attend and support bike and walking buses each morning until self-sustaining.
• Promote safe cycling practices and active travel behaviours in school communities.
• Identify community leads and build relationships to develop opportunities with the Air Pollution Manager.
