Job description

Seekers Production Support Engineer - Graduate Programme 2025

Salary: £31,500 plus a £3000 joining bonus.

Location: Bolton

Working pattern: The majority of work will be conducted on site, fostering a social and collaborative environment. Opportunities for home working may be available depending on the task.

Security clearance: British Citizen or Dual UK national with British citizenship. All successful candidates will need to undergo HMG Basic Personnel Security Standard checks (BPSS).

The opportunity:

The seeker is a complex integrated radar system used for missile guidance, detection, identification, and tracking of targets. As part of the RF Seeker Production Support team, you will ensure smooth production processes, applying your growing expertise in seeker technology to maintain quality, timeliness, and cost-effectiveness.

You may support various aspects of seeker production, including RF, electronic, mechanical, software, thermal, or other issues. Collaboration with Engineers from Manufacturing and Test teams is essential to diagnose problems, identify causes, and implement solutions.

This program offers on-the-job learning, allowing you to develop your university skills and experiences. During your placement, you could:

  • Investigate design or production issues
  • Perform RF system measurements
  • Analyze test data using MATLAB
  • Suggest improvements to design, build, and testing
  • Transfer technical knowledge between teams
  • Facilitate the transition of seekers between design and manufacturing phases

You will also have the opportunity to work towards Professional Chartership with bodies such as IOP, IMA, IET, IMechE, or RAeS, with fees paid by the company.

Our diverse team offers exposure to various production areas and multinational projects, including travel and secondment opportunities.

Candidate requirements:
  • Degree in Physics, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Maths, Aeronautical Engineering, or Artificial Intelligence (minimum 2.2)
