Security and Traffic Officer at RAF Brize Norton

Here at Serco, we are currently recruiting for a Security and Traffic Officer based at RAF Brize Norton. This role is responsible for the effective delivery of contracted security and reception duties under the instruction of the security shift supervisor, as directed by the security manager.

Main responsibilities of the role include:

1. Maintaining a record of daily duties in a pocket book, which may be requested for legal recall.
2. Controlling access and egress of vehicle traffic, military personnel, visitors, contractors, and unit employees at the main gate.
3. Managing the flow of traffic and pedestrians.
4. Checking ID cards and vehicle permits to ensure only authorized individuals gain access.
5. Assisting in searches of vehicles, visitors, and baggage when delegated.
6. Providing welcoming services and ascertaining the requirements of visitors, contractors, or deliveries upon presentation of relevant ID.
7. Responding to and executing emergency procedures as delegated.
8. Providing vehicle escort services for visiting, delivery, or collection vehicles for ESA and Air Cargo.

Qualifications and requirements:

1. UK Driving License for car (essential), with no more than 6 points.
2. Ability to meet color perception standards for an Airfield Driving Permit.
3. Ideally hold an SIA License (not essential).
