Job description

Great opportunity to work as a Security Team Leader for G4S, a leading global security and outsourcing group, specialising in outsourcing of business processes in sectors where security and safety risks are considered a strategic threat.

G4S is recruiting for a Security Team Leader to work in Weybridge.

The rate of pay is £ per hour.

The successful candidate will need to have over 1 year of experience in Security.

You will also need to hold a valid SIA.

The shift pattern is working 2 days, 2 nights, and then 4 days off. This will be contracted to 42 hours a week.

Your Time at Work

You will have the following responsibilities:

  • Security Officer functions and assistance with the day-to-day running of the site control room operation.
  • Day-to-day completion of activity logging, including incident reports, equipment faults, and other relevant documentation.
  • Answering incoming calls and providing advice or escalation as required.
  • Input into the Security Equipment Fault register, ensuring outstanding items are repaired or escalated where appropriate.
  • Issuing site keys and completing relevant logs.
  • Control Room coordination of site incidents, reporting, and closing of incidents.
  • Ensuring Health & Safety issues are logged and reported.

The ideal candidate will be aged 18 or over, a confident communicator, a team player, and committed to providing friendly and professional service at all times. Good IT knowledge is also key.

Other key requirements include:

  • Good literacy and communication skills, with proficiency in verbal and written English.
  • Excellent telephone manner.
  • Computer literacy.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and stay calm under pressure.
  • Delivering excellent customer service.
  • Smart appearance.
  • Reliability, self-motivation, and the ability to work independently.
  • Ability to motivate staff.
  • Diplomacy and tact in dealing with people, including in emergencies and stressful situations.
  • Ability to take control of emergencies until the Control Room/Lead Officer arrives.

Previous Team Leader experience is desirable.

Officers must have a Security Industry Training basic qualification and a valid SIA Licence.

You must be able to operate all necessary security equipment, such as radios, fire safety equipment, access control systems, alarms, and CCTV.
