Job summary

HP4 Recruitment Ltd. is seeking an experienced Technical Manager to lead technical operations for an independent security systems company in Hatfield. Focus on CCTV, Access Control and Intruder Alarm systems while supporting engineers and maintaining high standards.

The role offers ownership of technical delivery, engagement with leading technologies and a key role in developing the engineering team. Strong leadership and security domain expertise are essential.

Qualifications

• Strong technical background in the electronic security industry.
• Advanced knowledge of Access Control systems (Gallagher or Avigilon).
• Strong experience with CCTV and Video Management Systems (Avigilon or Milestone).
• Good understanding of IP networking, system integration and secure remote support.
• Experience with SQL databases, Microsoft Windows applications and server environments used by security systems.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
• Experience diagnosing complex faults and supporting engineers with technical issues.
• Strong communication skills with clients, suppliers and colleagues.
• Ability to manage competing priorities and maintain high technical standards.

Responsibilities

• Overseeing the technical delivery, commissioning and quality of electronic security systems.
• Providing technical support to engineers, clients and the Service Desk.
• Escalation point for complex faults, system integration issues and recurring failures.
• Reviewing system designs, carrying out surveys and supporting technical specifications and tenders.
• Coordinating system configuration, programming, testing and commissioning.
• Supporting system takeovers, maintenance and remote technical troubleshooting.
• Managing pre-configuration, testing and integration checks ahead of site installations.
• Supporting network infrastructure, servers, workstations and software upgrades.
• Training engineers, assessing technical competence and coordinating manufacturer training.
• Liaising with clients, suppliers and manufacturers to resolve technical issues and improve system performance.
• Maintaining accurate technical asset information and identifying opportunities for system upgrades.
