Job summary

Corps Security in Barrow-in-Furness is seeking a highly skilled SIA Licensed Security Supervisor to oversee a security function for a client site. You will manage a team, ensure professional security presence, and handle day-to-day operations with a focus on incident response and reporting.

You will lead, motivate and develop staff, monitor CCTV and access control, and liaise with authorities as needed. A 60-hour week, Mon–Fri, from 06:00 to 18:00, is involved.

Qualifications

• SIA Front-Line License is essential.
• SIA CCTV License is desirable.
• Full UK Driving License is desirable.
• Excellent communication skills and a strong customer focus are required.
• Excellent IT skills including Microsoft Excel are expected.
• Able to achieve vetting to BS7858 standards.

Responsibilities

• Supervise daily security team operations, ensuring tasks and policies are followed.
• Monitor surveillance and alarm systems and respond to breaches/incidents promptly.
• Lead, manage and motivate direct reports with coaching and development.
• Submit reports and performance documentation to the relevant departments.
• Monitor site activities and manage contractors with risk assessments.
• Liaise with law enforcement and emergency services during emergencies.
• Regularly inspect security equipment and ensure proper function.
• Investigate incidents and prepare comprehensive reports with improvements.

Who are we looking for?

We are looking for a highly skilled SIA Licensed Security Supervisor in Barrow-in -Furness to oversee the performance and upkeep of the security function on one of our esteemed clients’ premises. You will be responsible for the day-to-day activities of your team and ensure all colleagues are adhering to their duties and maintaining a high level of professionalism and security presence.

You will work - 60hrs per week, Mon-Fri0600-1800.

What you will need:

• Excellent communication skills and a strong customer focus.
• A valid SIA Front-Line License - essential.
• A valid SIA CCTV License - desirable.
• A Full UK Driving License - desirable.
• COMAH site experience would be great, but not essential.
• Confidence and ability to establish and maintain good and effective working relationships at all levels.
• Excellent IT Skills including Microsoft Software Packages (e.g. Excel)
• Able to achieve vetting to BS7858 Standards.

What are you going to do:

• Supervise daily security team operations, ensuring the team are fulfilling all their daily tasks and adhering to Assignment Instructions and Corps Security policies.
• Monitor surveillance and alarm systems and respond to any security breaches/incidents in an efficient and timely manner – ensuring escalation processes are adhered to.
• To lead, manage and motivate direct reports including; goal setting, performance reviews, appraisals, coaching and development training, and monitor attendance/timekeeping.
• Prompt and accurate submission of all necessary reports and performance measurement documentation to the appropriate departments.
• To monitor all staff and contractor activities on the site including the ‘control of contractors’, recording of method statements and risk assessments.
• Liaise with law enforcement, emergency services, and relevant stakeholders during emergencies.
• Regularly inspect security equipment (e.g. CCTV, Access Control, Alarms) and ensure proper functioning and upkeep.
• Investigate any security incidents, accidents, and breaches, preparing comprehensive reports with improvement recommendations.
• Ensure effective communication across departments with integrating security measures into all operational factors, including events, facility management, and safety or all persons on site.
• Attainment of Corps Security KPI’s and assist with investigation of apparent non-conformance.
• Ad-hoc duties as and when required.
