Job summary

Oho Group in Bristol is seeking a Security Research Engineer to contribute to the research, design and development of next-generation security solutions. You will work on projects spanning software, hardware and infrastructure, creating prototypes and proofs-of-concept to explore innovative ideas.

The role emphasizes independent work alongside a team of highly skilled engineers, tackling complex security challenges and communicating findings clearly across engineering disciplines.

The Role

As a Security Research Engineer, you will contribute to the research, design, and development of next-generation security solutions.

• Researching and developing new approaches to improve system security and resilience
• Designing security concepts, architectures, and technical solutions
• Building prototypes and proof-of-concept implementations to explore new ideas
• Analysing complex systems to identify vulnerabilities and opportunities for improvement
• Working across multiple areas of technology including software, hardware, and infrastructure
• Producing technical documentation, research findings, and engineering proposals

What We’re Looking For

We are looking for an engineer with a strong technical background and an interest in solving complex security challenges. You will ideally have experience in:

• Security research (this is a research role)
• Understanding of low-level systems and computer architecture
• Applying security principles to real-world engineering challenges
• Analysing technical problems and communicating solutions clearly
