Job summary

ECM Selection (Holdings) Limited is seeking a software vulnerability researcher to assess critical defence systems and develop proof‑of‑concept demonstrators, translating research into practical security solutions alongside engineers and scientists.

This full‑time role is based at their state‑of‑the‑art office south of Cambridge with on‑site parking; you’ll join a collaborative, mentorship‑driven environment that values open exchange and rapid design and implementation.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrable experience in vulnerability research.
  • Good knowledge of how software and hardware interact at a low level (drivers, firmware, embedded systems).
  • Fluent programmer in C, C++ or Python.
  • STEM degree from a top university.
  • UK nationality, for security reasons.

Responsibilities

  • Assess critical software, hardware, infrastructure and user interactions to identify and understand vulnerabilities.
  • Develop proof-of-concept demonstrators and research connections between software, hardware, infrastructure and user interactions.
  • Collaborate with engineers and scientists across specialties in a fast-paced, open environment; participate in a formal mentorship programme.

Assessing Critical Software Defence Systems Targeted by Foreign Adversaries

This defence firm seeks a talented software vulnerability researcher to assess critical systems and develop novel cyber defence techniques. You will develop proof‑of‑concept demonstrators and research the connections between software, hardware, infrastructure and user interactions to identify and understand vulnerabilities. This company’s rapid approach to design and implementation means your work won’t stall at the concept stage.

You will be working full time at their state‑of‑the‑art office and labs located south of Cambridge with on‑site parking. They have a strong culture of openness and teams aren’t siloed away from each other. Instead, you’ll be working alongside engineers and scientists with various specialties providing unique opportunities for learning as well as a formal mentorship programme.

Requirements
  • Demonstrable experience in vulnerability research.
