Job Title: Security Patrol and Response Officer

We are recruiting a highly competent and professional Security Patrol and Response Officer to join our Patrol and Response Team. You will be responsible for carrying out targeted and responsive patrols to assist our clients in various functions, including lock-up duties, proactive estate patrols, supporting lone workers, and responding to alarm events.

Patrol and Response Officers are key frontline team members, reporting to the Regional Operations Officer. You will typically operate from Basingstoke or Southampton, performing duties throughout a 10-hour shift.

The ideal candidate will command respect and authority, demonstrate professionalism, handle situations calmly and confidently, and make well-reasoned decisions, often under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Proactively patrol assigned premises, both internally and externally.
• Secure client premises by locking up and activating alarms as per instructions, ensuring all exits, doors, and windows are properly secured.
• Challenge trespassers promptly and facilitate their safe removal, reporting incidents appropriately.
• Respond quickly to support colleagues and react to threats or alarm activations.
• Investigate suspicious activity, persons, and vehicles, sharing information with colleagues, management, and law enforcement as needed.
• Maintain detailed incident reports and records.
• Challenge, detain, and arrest suspects when appropriate, liaising with police to preserve evidence, prepare statements, and file reports.
• Assist stakeholders as required.
• Represent the company professionally, maintaining high standards of driving and conduct.

Requirements and Skills

• Frontline SIA licence in Security Guarding, Door Supervision, or Close Protection.
• Full UK Driving Licence with no more than 3 penalty points.
• First Aid at Work Qualification.
• Proven security officer experience.
• Competence in report writing.
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
