Job summary

Scottish Water is seeking an Operational Specialist Team Leader - Security Operations and Planning to strengthen our Security Team in Scotland. You will lead security policy, strategy, and awareness training, and coordinate with Police Scotland and external agencies.

The role requires handling security incidents, developing plans for CCTV, incident management, and alarm response, and guiding a team of Protective Security Specialists across Scotland.

Qualifications

• Experience in security policy, strategy and incident management.
• Ability to deliver security awareness training and advise across the organisation.
• Strong analytical and investigative skills with ability to identify vulnerabilities and recommend fixes.
• Excellent stakeholder management and ability to build credible relationships at all levels.
• Knowledge of protective security standards (British/European) and UK govt guidelines.
• Proficient with Microsoft 365 and related IT systems.

Responsibilities

• Provide expertise in security policy and strategy, and deliver security training across Scottish Water and partners.
• Investigate significant security incidents and represent Scottish Water at meetings with external agencies.
• Prepare and update security policies, procedures and plans (Security Manual, CCTV, incident management, alarm response).
• Create and deliver training material and plan exercises to test security readiness.
• Manage the security incident reporting system and analyse trends to drive improvements.
• Provide strategic guidance and lead responses to emerging national security risks.
