Job summary

Perk is hiring a Security Operations Engineer in the UK to design, implement and maintain advanced threat detection solutions across cloud environments. You will develop and refine detection rules, IOCs, and signatures while staying current with industry threats and best practices.

Role requires hands-on SIEM/EDR experience, scripting in Python for automation, and IaC exposure with Terraform or Pulumi. Excellent communication and English fluency are essential for collaborating with stakeholders

Qualifications

• We hold a degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field.
• Experience as Security Operations Engineer in SOC or similar.
• Hands-on with SIEM, EDR, IDS/IPS and other security tools.
• Scripting in Python for automation and tool customization.
• Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools like Terraform or Pulumi.
• Strong networking and cybersecurity framework knowledge.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.
• Fluent in English; other languages are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain advanced threat detection solutions.
• Improve threat detection and response by optimizing security tools and configurations.
• Develop and optimize detection rules,signatures and IOCs across platforms.
• Stay updated on industry trends, threats, and best practices.
• Secure SaaS apps and infrastructure with best practices and monitoring.
• Ensure ISO 27001, SOC 2, PCI-DSS compliance through governance and controls.
• Collaborate with non-engineering teams to drive improvements.
• Work with Product Security to secure multiple cloud technologies.
• Enhance threat hunting, incident response and security operations through continuous improvement.
