Job summary

Giacom, a leading platform for IT, Comms and Cloud services in the UK, seeks a SecOps Engineer to enhance security posture and manage outsourced SOC services. You will triage alerts, investigate incidents, and drive remediation in collaboration with engineering teams.

The role emphasises hands-on security operations, threat detection, and automation to strengthen our global and UK-specific security controls while preserving day-to-day operations.

Qualifications

• Hands-on work in cybersecurity operations or security engineering.
• Experience with security monitoring, threat detection and incident response.
• Knowledge of endpoint security, IAM, PAM/PIM and hardening standards.
• Experience with enterprise SIEM/XDR platforms and third-party SOC coordination.

Responsibilities

• Act as liaison with outsourced SOC vendor and coordinate incident response.
• Triage and prioritise alerts, incidents and investigations with business impact.
• Guide containment, eradication and recovery actions per policies and frameworks.
• Collaborate to implement automation for routine SOC tasks and data gathering.
• Design security improvements and coordinate with IT operations for hardened controls.
