Job summary

OCS UK & Ireland is seeking a Security Officer for York Hospital to maintain a safe, welcoming environment across a busy site. You will safeguard people, property and assets while delivering a professional service to employees and visitors.

The ideal candidate will have Right to Work in the UK, BS7858 vetting, SIA front line DS/SG (CCTV desirable), and a UK driving licence. You will patrol, monitor systems, control access and respond to incidents on a 5 on 5 off roster.

Qualifications

• Must have the Right to Work in the UK.
• BS7858 vetting clearance.
• SIA front line DS/SG (CCTV desirable).
• UK driving licence preferred.
• Previous experience in a security role and strong customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the safety and security of buildings, personnel, and visitors across the site.
• Act as a first point of contact, providing a professional, friendly and helpful service.
• Monitor fire, security and building management systems, responding appropriately to incidents.
• Control access points, barriers, and support traffic management across the site.
• Carry out regular patrols and ensure security procedures are consistently followed.

About The Role

Days of Working: This position will be based at York Hospital, working 5 on 5 0ff.Days or Nights.

Becoming a Security Officer at OCS offers a fantastic opportunity to join a dedicated team responsible for maintaining a safe, secure, and welcoming environment across a busy client site. In this role, you will play a vital part in protecting people, property, and assets, while delivering a professional and approachable service to all employees and visitors.

You will be part of a team that takes pride in high standards, strong customer service, and proactive security management, ensuring the site operates safely and efficiently at all times.

As part of your role, your key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

• Maintain the safety and security of buildings, personnel, and visitors across the site
• Act as a first point of contact, providing a professional, friendly and helpful service
• Monitor fire, security and building management systems, responding appropriately to incidents
• Support a safe working environment by following Health & Safety policies and reporting hazards, damage, or defects
• Control access points, barriers, and support traffic management across the site
• Carry out regular patrols and ensure security procedures are consistently followed

The ideal candidate should meet the following criteria

• Must have the Right to Work in the UK and ability to pass BS7858 vetting.
• Valid SIA front line DS/SG & SIA CCTV (CCTV = desirable)
• UK driving licence preferred
• Previous experience in a security role
• Strong communication and customer service skills
