Job summary

Securitas UK in Cambridge is recruiting a Security Officer to protect people, property and information at a busy site. You’ll monitor CCTV, alarms, patrol both inside and outside, and support day-to-day security operations.

Qualifications

• Essentially you must have a valid SIA licence and the right to work in the UK with a 5-year checkable history.
• Excellent punctuality and reliable attendance are expected, with strong English communication.

Responsibilities

• Monitor CCTV, fire and intruder alarms and CCTV as appropriate.
• Conduct external and internal security patrols as detailed in the Assignment Instructions.
• Carry out routine tests of security equipment where appropriate.
• Manage keys and perform locking/unlocking duties as detailed in the Assignment Instructions.
• Maintain logbooks and records as detailed in the Assignment Instructions.
• Issue visitor/contractor passes and assist staff, visitors and contractors while safeguarding the premises.

In this role, you will help protect employees, visitors, and site assets by following assignment instructions and maintaining the highest standards of integrity, vigilance, and helpfulness. The successful candidate will play a key part in ensuring the safe and secure day-to-day operations of a busy site environment

As aSecurity Officer, your key responsibilities include monitoring CCTV, fire, and intruder alarm systems, conducting both internal and external patrols, and preventing unauthorised access to the premises. You will also assist with traffic management and parking enforcement, carry out routine checks of security equipment, and manage key holding duties including locking and unlocking facilities. This is a hands‑on role suited to someone proactive, attentive, and committed to maintaining a safe and secure environment at all times.

• Prevent and deter unauthorised access to site. Monitor fire alarms, intruder alarms and CCTV as appropriate
• Conduct external and internal security patrols as detailed in the Assignment Instructions

• Manage keys and perform locking and unlocking duties as detailed in the Assignment Instructions
• Maintain all logbooks and records as detailed in the Assignment Instructions
• Issue visitor/contractor passes in accordance with the Assignment Instructions
• Provide support, guidance and information to all staff, visitors and contractors whilst ensuring safeguarding of the premises

Qualifications
