Job summary

Mitie is seeking Retail Security Officers for Asda Tipton to provide exceptional customer service while keeping the store safe from crime. The role operates across mornings, evenings and weekends with a pay rate of £13.10 per hour.

You will work in a fast-paced retail environment, patrol the store, assist customers, and use CCTV as needed to deter and reduce crime. Full uniform and professional conduct are expected at all times.

Qualifications

• Maintain clean, tidy appearance in full uniform
• Deter violence and maintain public order
• Conduct store patrols
• Utilise CCTV to reduce crime and stock loss
• Liaise with store management teams
• Report incidents and crime using our technology

• Operate Body Worn CCTV to enhance safety

Mitie is looking for Retail security officers who can deliver exceptional customer service whilst creating a safe shopping environment, free from crime and the fear of crime for customers and colleagues.

Objectives And Responsibilities

• Work to the Assignment Instructions ensuring that all activity is accurately recorded on the correct documents, in line with both the Client's and the Company's Quality Procedures
• To follow the site-specific Risk Assessments ensuring all activities are completed in a safe manner
• Set and maintain the highest personal and professional standards as an employee of MITIE and adopt a total quality approach to every aspect of your work, colleagues and clients
• To create a safe working environment, free from crime and health and safety related issues for colleagues, contractors and customers
• To add a polite greeting and excellent customer service
• Provide a visible security contact for colleagues, contractors and customers

Main Duties

• To deliver industry leading customer service
• To be clean, tidy and properly dressed wearing full uniform
• To deter violence and public order offences
• To conduct patrols of the store
• Utilising CCTV systems to support the reduction of crime and stock loss
• Liaise with the store management teams
• To report incidents and crime through our leading technology
• Liaise with the Police and crime partnerships where required to foster a great working relationship to support the reduction of crime in store
• To wear Body Worn CCTV to support in the reduction of crime and increase colleague and customer safety

Who are we looking for?

• Experience of delivering Customer Service
• Excellent communication skills are required both written and verbal

• Capability in the use of technology

• High level of enthusiasm and passion
• Previous experience in a similar role is desirable but not essential
• Public Space Surveillance SIA licence is desirable but not essential
