Job summary

Securitas UK in Swindon is hiring a Security Officer to protect people, property and assets while delivering excellent customer service. You'll work 4 on, 4 off nights, 18:00 to 06:00, averaging about 42 hours per week, with a competitive hourly pay and access to learning opportunities from day one.

Ideal candidates hold a valid SIA Licence, have right to work in the UK, and are comfortable on site with good IT skills and strong English.

Qualifications

  • Valid SIA Security Guarding or Door Supervisor Licence.
  • Right to work in the UK with a 5-year checkable work history.
  • Flexibility to work days, nights, weekends, and varying shift patterns.
  • Strong written and spoken English communication skills.
  • Previous security experience in a corporate or industrial environment (desirable).
  • Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office, email, and incident reporting systems.
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and observational skills.
  • Calm, professional, and able to work effectively under pressure.
  • Reliable, adaptable, and able to work independently or as part of a team.

Responsibilities

  • Welcome and assist staff, visitors, and contractors while maintaining a professional security presence.
  • Conduct regular internal and external patrols, site inspections, and monitor CCTV, alarms, and security systems.
  • Control access to the site, manage visitor and contractor procedures, and prevent unauthorised entry.
  • Respond to incidents, emergencies, alarms, and security breaches, following escalation and evacuation procedures where required.
  • Carry out searches, lock/unlock duties, key management, and traffic or parking control as required.
  • Complete accurate incident reports, activity logs, handovers, and security records.
  • Support health & safety procedures, identify hazards, and help maintain a safe and secure environment for people, property, and assets.

The Security Officer will ensure site security remains compliant with assignment instructions and customer requirements, maintaining the highest standards of integrity, vigilance, and professionalism. A Security Officer plays a key role in supporting a safe and secure working environment at this innovative and technology-focused site.
