Job summary

Mitie Group plc. is seeking experienced security professionals to join our Security Guard teams nationwide for the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) project. You will patrol premises, respond to incidents, liaise with police and emergency services, and deliver excellent customer service to staff and visitors.

Candidates must hold a valid DS Licence and demonstrate strong judgement, proactive risk mitigation, and professional conduct. Training and ongoing support are provided.

Qualifications

• Valid DS Licence (essential).
• Ability to take proactive measures to mitigate disruption, loss, or damage.
• Demonstrated judgement and initiative with the ability to request additional support when needed.

Job Overview

• Maintain a safe and secure environment for DWP staff, visitors, and property.
• Conduct regular patrols of the premises to identify potential security threats.
• Respond effectively to emergencies or suspicious situations.
• Liaise with local law enforcement and emergency services as required.
• Deliver a high standard of customer service and assist staff and visitors with any security-related matters.
• Perform routine security checks and submit incident reports as appropriate.
• Comply with Mitie and DWP security policies, procedures, and regulations, Security and Health & Safety
• Identify and immediately report any Health & Safety hazards or potential hazards on site.
• Remain vigilant to any threats or changes within the work environment and take appropriate action before situations elevate.
• Maintain professional conduct when managing difficult situations and challenging customers.
• Complete accurate, detailed notebook entries promptly following any incident, which will be utilised as part of the Incident Report process.
• Adhere to schedules and demonstrate commitment to Mitie and the Client.
• Contact emergency services and the Communication Centre to report all incidents.

Prior Security Experience
