An established industry player is seeking a dedicated security officer to join a proactive team focused on creating a safe environment for patients, staff, and visitors. This full-time role involves providing comprehensive security services across hospital sites, including responding to incidents and conducting patrols. We are looking to recruit a passionate, enthusiastic, motivated and dedicated team member to join our proactive, high standard setting security team, to help in our vision to create a safe place to work, visit and stay.
You will be providing a comprehensive 24/7 front line security service to our organisation. No security experience is necessary as full comprehensive training will be given to the right candidate.
This role will include the prevention and detection of crime or anti-social behaviour, ensuring the safety of patients, staff and visitors on Trust premises, and ensuring the security of Trust property and assets. You will be part of a team based primarily in one or other of the Trust's hospitals but will be required to work at the other hospital from time to time. You will be responsible for responding to all Trust security and fire alerts in a timely manner.
Your main duties will include the protection of our patients, staff and visitors. You will assist in the prevention of crime, conduct proactive patrols of the internal and external sites, securing buildings, general car park duties, and respond to emergency incidents, which will include fire alarms and challenging patients and members of the public.
You will have a professional and logical approach to your work, showing initiative and having a can-do attitude.
This is a challenging and rewarding role, requiring the ability to work under pressure and keep calm in challenging situations.
This is a full-time position, working contracted hours of 37.5 hours per week with a holiday allowance starting at 27 days plus an additional 8 bank holidays.
You will be working at both Preston and Chorley Hospital sites, working a 4 on 4 off rotating shift pattern covering all operational hours across both sites when needed. This will include nights and weekends.
Unsociable and weekend enhancements are paid when these are worked.
As a band 2 officer working this pattern, you will be expected to obtain earnings of up to £33k with the opportunity for working overtime on an ad hoc basis.
