Job summary

Corps Security is seeking a highly skilled SIA Licensed Security Officer to provide a secure environment on site. You will apply access control procedures, conduct site inductions, and carry out patrols with other duties as assigned.

The role involves nights, averaging 48 hours per week with a 4-on/4-off pattern from 19:00 to 07:00. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication, strong customer focus, and IT skills (Excel) to support daily site administration and reporting.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication skills with a strong customer focus.
• Proven ability to maintain professional relationships at all levels.
• Excellent IT skills including Microsoft Excel.
• Ability to work to deadlines and multitask under pressure.
• Able to achieve vetting to BS7858 standards.

Responsibilities

• Maintain overall surveillance of the site with regular site patrols and recording as required.
• Ensure all visitors and contractors are briefed and signed in/out.
• Record entry/exit of deliveries and process related paperwork per site procedures.
• Set and unset primary/secondary alarm systems for out-of-hours security if applicable.
• Complete daily occurrence logs, shift handovers, incident/accident records and site reports.
• Follow Assignment Instructions, Risk Assessments and safety documents; advise on changes or improvements.
• Maintain training records, ensuring first aid and fire marshal training is up to date.
• Maintain your SIA licence visible and perform ad hoc duties as directed.

Who are we looking for?

We are looking for a highly skilled SIA Licensed Security Officer to provide a secure and safe environment for all staff & visitors on site. This will be achieved through applying thorough access control procedures, carrying out site inductions, planned & ad-hoc site patrols together with other duties as determined by the Assignment Instructions. In the event of an emergency follow prescribed escalation/communication procedures with Site Management, Corps colleagues and the emergency services.

You will be working an average of 48 hours per week covering nights. Shift pattern will be: 4 on, 4 off 1900-0700.

What you will need:

• Excellent communication skills and a strong customer focus.
• A valid SIA Front-Line License - essential
• A valid SIA CCTV License - desirable
• Confidence and ability to establish and maintain good and effective working relationships at all levels.
• Ability to work to deadlines, multitasking and working under pressure.
• Excellent IT Skills including Microsoft Software Packages (e.g. Excel)
• Able to achieve vetting to BS7858 Standards

What are you going to do:

• Maintain overall surveillance of the site, carrying out regular site patrols and recording these as per Corps and Customer requirements.
• Ensuring all visitors and contractors to site are correctly briefed, sign in and out of the site.
• Record the entry and exit of delivery whilst on site, including processing of paperwork in line with site quality procedures.
• To ensure that patrols are carried out and to the correct standards.
• Set and unset primary and secondary alarm security systems for out of hours security provision if applicable.
• Comply with site waste management procedures.
• Complete documents as required including daily occurrence log, shift handover, incident/accident records and any site-specific reports.
• Ensure you are familiar with Assignment Instructions, Risk Assessments, and other quality & safety documents; advise Corps Duty Manager and/or client personnel on any changes or recommendations to improve.
• Maintain your own training records via Corps Colleague Portal such that your skills remain up to date, and in particular your first aid and fire marshal training is in accordance with legislative guidelines.
• Continuously apply your SIA skills, maintaining a high level of professionalism. Your SIA licence must be always displayed.
• Perform ad hoc duties as directed.
