First Military Recruitment are currently seeking a Security Officer on behalf of one of our clients. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing a secure and safe environment for all staff & visitors on site. You will be working an average of 48 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with shifts from 07:30 to 17:06.
Our client encourages applications from ex-military personnel; however, all candidates will be given due consideration.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Maintain overall surveillance of the site, carrying out regular site patrols and recording these as per the business and customer requirements.
- Ensure all visitors and contractors are correctly briefed, sign in and out of the site.
- Record the entry and exit of deliveries on site, including processing paperwork in line with site quality procedures.
- Carry out patrols to the correct standards.
- Set and unset primary and secondary alarm security systems for out-of-hours security if applicable.
- Comply with site waste management procedures.
- Complete required documents, including daily occurrence logs, shift handovers, incident/accident records, and site-specific reports.
- Familiarize with Assignment Instructions, Risk Assessments, and other safety documents; advise the Duty Manager and/or client personnel on changes or recommendations to improve safety and security.
- Maintain training records via the Colleague Portal, ensuring skills are up to date, especially first aid and fire marshal training in accordance with legislative guidelines.
- Apply your SIA skills professionally at all times. Your SIA license must be always displayed.
- Perform ad hoc duties as directed.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Ability to achieve vetting to BS7858 Standards and DV Clearance Standards.
- Excellent communication skills and a customer-focused approach.
- Valid SIA Front-Line License – essential.
- Ability to meet deadlines, multitask, and work under pressure.
- Excellent IT Skills, including Microsoft Office packages (e.g., Excel).
- A valid UK Driving License.
