Job summary

Securitas UK in Harrogate is seeking a Security Officer to protect people and property while upholding our values of integrity and service.

Qualifications

• SIA licence required.
• Physically fit to patrol and respond to incidents.
• Right to work in the UK with a clear history.
• Strong written and spoken English communication.

Responsibilities

• Keep people, property and information safe on site.
• Monitor fire alarms, intruder alarms and CCTV.
• Conduct external and internal security patrols as directed.
• Provide traffic control and manage parking restrictions.
• Carry out routine tests of security equipment.
• Manage keys and perform locking/unlocking duties.
• Ensure equipment is used per customer/Securitas procedures.
• Maintain logbooks and records of activity.
• Issue visitor/contractor passes as required.
• Handle lost property according to instructions.
• Provide support and information to staff, visitors and contractors.

Location: Harrogate, UK

Pay: £13.84 per hour

Hours: 2 day shifts (06:45–18:45), followed by 2 night shifts (18:45–06:45), then 4 days off.

Job Description

Responsibilities

You’ll play a vital part in keeping people, property, and information safe. That includes:

• Prevent and deter unauthorised access to site.


• Monitor fire alarms, intruder alarms and CCTV as appropriate.


• Conduct external and internal security patrols as detailed in the Assignment Instructions.


• Provide traffic control and apply parking restrictions as required.


• Carry out routine tests of security equipment where appropriate.


• Manage keys and perform locking and unlocking duties as detailed in the Assignment Instructions.


• Ensure any equipment provided by the customer and Securitas is managed in accordance with procedures detailed in the Assignment Instructions.


• Maintain all logbooks and records as detailed in the Assignment Instructions.


• Issue visitor/contractor passes in accordance with the Assignment Instructions.


• Deal with lost property in accordance with the Assignment Instructions. Health and Safety


• To provide support, guidance and information to all staff, visitors and contractor

Qualifications

What we’re looking for:

• Physically fit to patrol the site.


• The right to work in the UK, with a 5-year checkable history.


• Strong communication skills in English—both written and spoken.
