Job summary

B&M Retail Limited in Exeter is seeking a confident Retail Security Officer to safeguard people, products and store environments while delivering a welcoming customer experience. This full-time, permanent role offers variety across daytime, evening and weekend shifts and the chance to join a busy store team.

You will monitor store activity, operate CCTV, support Health & Safety procedures, investigate stock loss, theft and fraud, and engage with customers calmly.

Qualifications

• Similar security experience isn't essential.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to follow procedures and remain composed in challenging situations.
• Sound judgement, honesty, integrity and a strong work ethic.
• A customer-first mindset and teamwork.

Responsibilities

Are you a confident and professional Retail Security Officer? Do you enjoy safeguarding people, products, and store environments while delivering a welcoming customer experience?

Join our team in Exeter and make a real difference!

In this role, you'll be trusted with responsibility and play a vital role in safeguarding the store. Working closely with the Store Management Team, you'll help prevent loss, manage risk and maintain high standards of safety and professionalism.

This is a full-time, permanent role with flexibility to work across daytime, evening and weekend shifts - ideal for someone who enjoys variety, responsibility and being an integral part of the store team.

What you'll be doing

• Actively monitoring the store to identify, prevent and report incidents
• Operating and reviewing CCTV systems in line with company policies
• Supporting the enforcement of Health & Safety procedures
• Conducting investigations into stock loss, theft and fraud
• Engaging with customers and colleagues to resolve situations calmly and effectively
