Security Officer Permanent Ofsted Good College in Northamptonshire

Salary: £25,625 per annum

Location: Northamptonshire

Contract: Permanent, Full Time 4 days on, 4 days off rolling rota, 12-hour shifts (days/nights). (6am 6pm / 6pm 6am)

About the Role:

Join a supportive and dedicated Estates Support team at an Ofsted Good college in Northamptonshire. As a Security Officer, you ll play a key role in ensuring the security, safety and welfare of students, staff and visitors across campus. You ll provide a visible, proactive presence, engaging positively with the college community while managing incidents, CCTV monitoring, and access control.

Key Responsibilities:

• Patrolling buildings and grounds to deter and detect issues
• Monitoring CCTV and alarm systems
• Managing access for staff, students, visitors and contractors
• Responding to incidents, including fire alarms, first aid and safeguarding concerns
• Providing a professional front-of-house service, including ID checks and visitor management
• Acting as backup for the Student Welfare team, with a focus on mental health first aid
• Promoting safeguarding and the welfare of young people in all aspects of college life

What We re Looking For:

• Valid SIA Door Supervision (DS) or Security Guarding (SG) licence (Essential)
• SIA CCTV licence (Desirable training can be provided)
• Full driving licence with fewer than 6 points
• Excellent customer service, communication and teamwork skills
• Willingness to work flexibly on a rotating shift pattern, including weekends and nights
• A commitment to safeguarding, health and safety, and equality, diversity & inclusion
• Experience working in education or with young people is an advantage
