We have an opportunity for a Security Officer to join our team at our corporate EDF office in Aztec West, Bristol.

  • Permanent contract
  • Full-time, shift rota basis: 1 week of early shifts: 6am – 2pm, followed by 1 week of late shifts 2pm – 10pm, repeating

Main Purpose of Job:

This is an exciting opportunity to work with our onsite team delivering Total Facilities Management to our client. The protection of our customers people and assets is the primary function of this role by providing a safe and secure environment for all staff, visitors and contractors visiting site.

The security function must be delivered with a high degree of customer service being courteous, respectful and professional at all times.

You will also provide support to the Facilities teams in other areas.

Emergency Preparedness is key, and you will play a critical role in both pro-active and reactive responses to all types of incidents

Main Responsibilities:

  • Providing a safe and secure environment for all with a high level of customer service.
  • Monitoring and analysing security systems.
  • Taking the lead in identifying risks and where appropriate applying mitigation / escalating issues to relevant stakeholders within the business.
  • Protecting the company’s assets relative to theft, assault, fire and other safety issues.
  • Reporting incidents / occurrences via agreed lines of communication
  • Being familiar with and follow Assignment Instructions covering all areas but specifically Emergency Preparedness
  • Staff, visitor and contractor management
  • Ensuring compliance with site rules together with wider business directives and legislation

Skills and Competencies:

  • SIA Licence – Door supervisor / Security Guarding Front Line
  • Experience of working within the security industry
  • Checkable 3 year work history for vetting purposes
  • Holds or is willing to undertake First Aid at Work training (at company cost)
  • Good standard of spoken and written English
  • A good standard of IT literacy
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work as a team
  • Self-motivation and the ability to identify and complete needed tasks without direct supervision
