Job summary

Sodexo is hiring a Multi Skilled Security Officer for the Sevington Inland Border Facility in Ashford, Kent. You will be the visible on-site presence, enforcing site protocols and delivering excellent customer service while remaining vigilant.

Responsibilities include emergency response, assisting clients and visitors, liaising with authorities, and maintaining records. The role requires strong communication, reliability, and basic IT skills to operate security systems and radios.

Qualifications

• Must hold a valid SIA licence.
• Ability to stay calm under pressure.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Basic IT skills and familiarity with security systems.

Responsibilities

• Respond promptly and effectively to emergencies and incidents on site.
• Provide assistance to clients, contractors and visitors while following site procedures.
• Liaise with statutory authorities and provide information to support incidents.
• Continuously monitor site radio systems and adhere to procedures.
• Maintain site records such as incident forms and reference materials.
• Develop strong working relationships with on-site client.

Job Introduction

As a Multi Skilled Security Officer at Sevington Inland Border Facility Ashford Kent TN25 6GE, you will play a critical role in maintaining a secure, safe, and positive environment for all employees, visitors, and clients. This position requires a dependable individual who can remain alert, enforce site protocols, and respond effectively to various situations. You'll be a visible presence on site, combining vigilance with excellent customer service to support Sodexo's commitment to operational excellence and safety. Be professional, pleasant, friendly, courteous and helpful at all times whilst carrying out duties of the highest level.

Respond promptly and effectively to emergencies, ensuring customers are consistently informed throughout the process. Provide assistant to clients, contractors and visitors ensuring all site procedures and polices are adhered too. To liaise closely with statutory authorities, dealing with incidents and providing information to support. Continuous monitoring of site radio systems adhering to the correct procedures. Maintaining site records such as reference materials, incident forms and site occurrence book. To develop excellent working relationships with our on site client.

What You Will Bring

Avalid SIA (Security Industry Authority) Licence - essential for this role. A strong sense of responsibility and integrity, with the ability to remain calm under pressure. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a professional and approachable manner. Good observational awareness and attention to detail. The ability to work independently and as part of a team. A proactive attitude and willingness to take initiative when needed. Basic IT skills and confidence using security systems, radios, or reporting tools.
