Job summary

Mitie Cleaning & Hygiene Services is seeking a Security Officer for Union Square Shopping Centre in Aberdeen. The role requires patrolling, customer-facing presence, and prompt incident response across day and night shifts.

The position offers a structured 4 on / 4 off pattern with average 42 hours per week. An SIA Door Supervisor Licence is essential, along with strong communication skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.

Qualifications

• SIA Door Supervisor Licence required.
• Proven ability to stay calm under pressure.
• Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
• Team player with proactive, enthusiastic attitude.
• Ability to work independently and adapt to business needs.
• Full 5-year checkable work history.

Responsibilities

• Conduct regular patrols on-site, including outdoors in all weather.
• Provide a welcoming, professional presence for customers and clients.
• Maintain strong site awareness and respond to incidents as needed.
• Identify and respond to suspicious activity and escalate as required.
• Record and escalate incidents to Security Operations Manager.

Role Overview

You’ll be a key security presence on-site, acting as the first point of contact for customers and clients. The role involves regular patrolling, indoor and outdoor, monitoring for suspicious activity, and responding professionally to incidents.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct regular patrols, including outdoors in all weather.
• Provide a welcoming, professional presence for customers and clients.
• Maintain strong awareness of the site and surrounding area.
• Identify and respond to suspicious behaviour or criminal activity.
• Maintain control of incidents until emergency services arrive.
• Record and elevate incidents to the Security Operations Manager.
