As a Security Manager here at Ward, you will have the ability to provide operational and strategic leadership skills to a security team. You will demonstrate strong management skills, implement accountability and manage all accounts and equipment for the site. This will also include overseeing training and development of new officers alongside ensuring all the team are correctly tagged and licenced for the roles they are required to fulfil.

Role: Security Manager
Shift Pattern:Monday - Friday 50 hours per week

Salary: £40,000 per year
Location:Mira Technology Park, Nuneaton

Key Objectives and Responsibilities:

  • Provide operational and strategic leadership to a large site security team.
  • Cultivate strong working relationships with clients, stakeholders and external organisations to foster strong collaboration and resilient risk mitigation processes.
  • Provide the security measures necessary for the safeguarding of the property and people within the Mira Technology Park
  • To protect the premises above from possible unauthorised entry by using force or illegal instruments, whereby a loss of goods may result in subsequent damage to the client's business.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive security procedures tailored to the unique needs of the Park.
  • Continuously assess potential security risks and devise proactive measures to mitigate them effectively.
  • Attend stakeholder meetings on behalf of the security team, gaining buy-in for new processes and acting on any feedback.
  • Liaise directly with the client on the site's security development, forwarding ideas and recommendations on improving security.
  • Cultivate strong relationships with clients, tenants, and businesses to understand their security concerns and provide tailored solutions.
  • Liaise with external organisations, including the local council, police, and other relevant stakeholders, to foster collaboration and coordinate security efforts.
  • Chair security meetings with all park and relevant organisation stakeholders.
  • Develop contingency plans and procedures to address potential crises or emergencies.
  • Lead emergency response efforts, working closely with internal teams and external agencies to minimise disruption and ensure the safety of all on the park.

Main Duties:

  • Oversee the day-to-day security operations on the Park, ensuring adherence to established protocols and procedures.
  • Control all CCTV and data release from the control room.
  • Implement accountability and manage all accounts and equipment for the site.
  • Act in place of the FM team, liaising with contractors and outside agencies where needed.
  • Continuously review and develop current procedures and processes to maintain their effectiveness.
  • Introduce and develop a training program to develop the security team and maintain performance levels and skill fade.
  • Develop and train potential Supervisors
  • Conduct meetings in conjunction with HR on any welfare/discipline issues.
  • Organise and develop the officer schedule and rotation/annual leave.
  • Conduct interviews and hire new officers for open positions on-site.
  • Oversee the training and development of new officers, reviewing performance after their initial 3-month period for competency.
  • Ensure that all the team are correctly tagged and licensed for the roles they are required to fulfil.
  • To offer advice/assistance staff and visitors.
  • Provide staff to assist, as directed, in support of programmes, corporate events and functions.
  • Overseeing and validating all staff, visitors and contractors passes.
  • Production of incident reports.
  • Monitoring and overseeing the effective performance of security equipment.
  • Comply with and operate site security instructions and policies.
  • Comply with and operate site emergency and Health and safety procedures; respond as necessary to emergencies, including assisting the emergency services in the event of fire/bomb threats.

Person Specification:

  • Must hold a valid SIA Licence
  • Experience in Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Computer literate
  • Knowledge of technical security measures, including CCTV and access control
  • A strong ability to motivate self and Team.
