Job Introduction

Security Manager- Bristol and Weston Hospitals

  • £32000 per annum
  • 40hrs per week.
  • Managing Security for 5 sites.
  • The role is a mixture of days and nights.
  • SIA License and CCTV License essential.

Overall Purpose of Role

To assist the Contract Director, and lead and manage the Security Service in its entirety, to deliver an appropriate level of security and car parking with a view to protecting people and property and the prevention and detection of crime, in line with company and client procedures, through the leadership and motivation of the whole Security team. To develop the service by ensuring compliance and continuous improvement associated with the delivery of a high quality and efficient Service, ensuring best practice is maintained at all times.

Main Responsibilities

  • Strategically manage the security, car parking and CCTV control room functions across a busy hospital. Developing effective relationships with the client, service leads, emergency services and other agencies to ensure the smooth running of the site and a coordinated and systematic approach in the event of an emergency.
  • Manage the daily operation and overall security of the hospital in line with company and contractual standards. Working on behalf of the NHS client to deliver an environment that is safe and secure so that the highest standards of clinical care can be made available to patients. Monitor and report on KPI's relating to security incidents and put in place improvement plans to improve compliance where necessary.
  • Develop, implement and review procedures and assignment instructions to ensure the security of all sites within the contract is maintained at all times. Structuring staff training plans and monitoring individual progress to ensure the delivery of safe, professional and effective services.
  • Responsible for the effective running of the CCTV control room to provide oversight of the hospital and grounds. Ensuring all staff are trained and all GDPR, SIA and trust policies regarding privacy and information governance are implemented, understood and adhered to.
  • Manage the team including Supervisors, Security Officers, CCTV Controllers and Administration staff. Processing timesheets and dealing with any escalated staff issues such as grievances, disciplinary processes and capability/welfare review cases. Manage the departmental budget and P&L, controlling labour costs and providing effective services within budgetary parameters.
  • Work as part of the wider Medirest management team to support the smooth running of all services, and development of the contract. This will include having a basic understanding of the contracted services provided and supporting other managers/teams as required.
