Job summary

Hart Shoreditch Hotel London, Curio Collection by Hilton, is seeking a dynamic Security Manager to lead all security, safety and loss prevention operations. You will liaise with police, fire and safety bodies and support the General Manager in maintaining the highest standards of guest and employee safety.

The role requires developing and executing safety plans, coordinating emergency drills, and driving continuous improvement in security practices across the hotel.

Responsibilities

• Lead hotel security, safety, and loss prevention operations to protect guests, employees, contractors and assets.
• Develop, implement, and maintain security policies, procedures and risk prevention measures.
• Manage, train, and supervise the security team ensuring high performance and compliance.
• Investigate incidents, coordinate with authorities and produce detailed reports.
• Monitor CCTV, alarms, access control and key management systems.
• Conduct regular security patrols, audits and risk assessments.
• Coordinate emergency response procedures and crisis management activities.
• Deliver safety and security training and inductions for staff and managers.
• Collaborate with department heads to foster a culture of safety and compliance.
• Manage security budgets and provide reports to senior management.

Here’s What You’ll Do During a Typical Day

The Role of the Safety & Security Manager is to develop and execute plans that reflect corporate and hotel Safety and Security policies and ensure the absolute safety for our direct hotel guests, visitors, employees and contractors. The security manager is a key support to the General Manager and wider management team, who they will liaise with to determine operational needs. They must have a strong commitment to security rules and demonstrate initiative toward hazards and threats to safety. To act as the main contact between any government agencies like the police, fire and any safety regulatory bodies.

Core Focus And Responsibilities

• Lead all hotel security, safety, and loss prevention operations, ensuring the safety of guests, employees, contractors, and hotel assets.
• Develop, implement, and maintain effective security policies, procedures, and risk prevention measures.
• Manage, train, and supervise the security team, ensuring high standards of performance and compliance.
• Investigate incidents, thefts, accidents, complaints, and security breaches, producing detailed reports and liaising with external authorities when required.
• Monitor CCTV, alarm systems, access controls, and key management procedures to ensure all security systems remain fully operational.
• Conduct regular security patrols, audits, inspections, and risk assessments across the hotel.
• Ensure full compliance with Health & Safety, Fire Safety, company policies, and all relevant legislation.
• Coordinate emergency response procedures, fire drills, evacuation plans, and crisis management activities.
• Deliver safety and security training, inductions, and awareness programmes for employees and managers.
• Work closely with department heads to promote a strong culture of safety, security, and compliance throughout the hotel.
• Manage security budgets, analyse trends, and provide regular reports and recommendations to senior management.
• Liaise with law enforcement, emergency services, and external agencies as required.
• Coordinate security requirements for events, conferences, and high‑profile functions.
• Support hotel operations through Manager on Duty responsibilities and assist with emergency cover when required.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance safety, security, compliance, and operational efficiency.
