Kemp Recruitment Ltd is seeking a vigilant Security Guard to join our team at a busy depot. You will protect assets, monitor site access, and ensure the safety of staff, visitors and contractors.

You will monitor CCTV, conduct patrols, process data, and support gatehouse administration. The role requires an SIA licence, strong attention to detail and excellent customer service in a professional environment.

Qualifications

• Candidate must hold a valid SIA Security Guard or Door Supervisor licence.

Responsibilities

• Act as first point of contact for visitors, contractors and delivery drivers on site.
• Register vehicles and maintain accurate records.
• Verify visitor IDs and issue passes in line with site procedures.
• Monitor access and challenge unauthorised visitors.
• Carry out regular site and perimeter patrols.
• Monitor CCTV and respond to alarms and incidents.
• Complete gatehouse administration and daily security reports.
• Input data into internal systems accurately.
• Manage deliveries, collections and site access documentation.
• Coordinate vehicle movements with depot staff.
• Respond professionally to incidents and emergencies.
• Follow Health & Safety and security procedures at all times.
• Maintain a clean, professional reception/gatehouse area.

Job Summary

We are seeking a vigilant and dependable reliable and professional Security Guard to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong security background who takes pride in maintaining a safe and secure environment.

Based at our busy depot, you will be responsible for protecting company assets, monitoring site access, and ensuring the safety of employees, visitors and contractors. The successful candidate will be responsible for monitoring the site through surveillance systems, conducting patrols, and responding promptly to any incidents.

• Act as the first point of contact for all visitors, contractors and delivery drivers arriving on site.
• Register all vehicles entering and leaving the depot, ensuring accurate records are maintained.
• Verify visitor identification, issue passes and ensure all site access procedures are followed.
• Monitor and control access to the depot and challenge unauthorised visitors where necessary.
• Carry out regular patrols of the site, buildings and perimeter.
• Monitor CCTV systems and respond appropriately to alarms and security incidents.
• Complete gatehouse administration, including maintaining visitor logs, vehicle records and daily security reports.
• Accurately process and input data into internal systems.
• Manage documentation relating to deliveries, collections and site access.
• Liaise with depot staff to coordinate vehicle movements and deliveries.
• Respond professionally to incidents, emergencies or security concerns.
• Ensure all Health & Safety and company security procedures are followed at all times.
• Maintain a clean, organised and professional reception/gatehouse environment.

About You

The ideal candidate will have excellent attention to detail, be confident using computer systems and possess strong customer service skills. You’ll be comfortable balancing security responsibilities with administration and front‑of‑house duties in a busy depot environment.

Essential Requirements

• Valid SIA Security Guard or Door Supervisor Licence.
• Previous experience in a security or gatehouse role.
• Strong administration and data entry skills.
• Confident using Microsoft Office and computer‑based systems.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to remain calm under pressure and make sound decisions.
• Good attention to detail and accurate record keeping.
• Right to work in the UK.

Desirable

• CCTV experience.
• First Aid qualification.
• Full UK Driving Licence.
