Job summary

The Talent Locker is seeking a Security Engineer for a MOD/Defence environment in Farnborough. Hybrid work with on-site three days a week. The role focuses on managing privileged access, identity security and enterprise security tooling to protect critical infrastructure.

You'll implement and operate PAM, manage credentials, RBAC, and monitor security events across networks and Active Directory. Elastic SIEM experience would strengthen capability within the role.

Responsibilities

• Manage passwords, SSH keys, API keys and privileged credentials.
• Configure and troubleshoot automated password and credential rotation.
• Run discovery scans across Active Directory and network environments.
• Manage RBAC, permissions and user/group access.
• Monitor privileged sessions and investigate failed authentication activity.
• Maintain, patch and upgrade security platforms.
• Review audit logs and integrate security events with SIEM tooling.
• Troubleshoot Firewalls, load balancers and connectivity issues.

Security Engineer - MOD/Defence/High Security Clearance

Are you a Security Engineer with experience across privileged access management, identity security or enterprise security tooling?

This is a hands‑on security engineering role working within a highly secure Defence and National Security environment. You'll maintain and improve security platforms controlling privileged access, credentials and administrative activity across critical infrastructure.

There is also a requirement within the team for Elastic SIEM capability, so if you have strong Elastic experience alongside your security engineering background, that would also be relevant.

The role

You'll work across identity, privileged access and wider security infrastructure, including:

• Managing passwords, SSH keys, API keys and privileged credentials.

Key experience

• Hands‑on Security Engineering within complex environments.
• Privileged Access Management (PAM) or identity security solutions.
• Active Directory, identity providers, privileged and service accounts.
• Vulnerability scanning, EDR or SIEM tooling.
• Elastic SIEM experience would be a strong advantage.
• Understanding of RBAC, credential management and security monitoring.

Experience with DevSecOps, CI/CD, ATT&CK or MOD security environments would also be useful.
